A new month means a new Zodiac Tales episode! What better way to move through 2024 on a inspiring and positive note?

Alongside the launch of our new Zodiac Signs silk bandanas we wanted to create something special. A link, a connection between two worlds. We have therefore invited some of our favourite personalities to join us and share their experiences and knowledge as their own astrological signs.

And what a delight it all was.

Our 9th guest ambassador is Eric Ceccarini. Artist, photographer, entrepreneur and a bit of a philosopher. As a Virgo, he tells us about his beginnings, his sensitivity and his trust in others.

Hello Eric, welcome to our boutique in the center of Brussels, we're so happy to have you here!

To start things off could you tell us a bit more about you and what you do?

Eric Ceccarini, born September 18, 1965, 58 years and a few months.

Photographer. Since I was twelve, I have known that I want to be a photographer

and I think I don't know how to do anything other than photography.

In any case, I try to do my best.

25 years of fashion and advertising.

Several years of assisting very good fashion photographers who gave me a little boost. Who helped me find my first clients and to do and carry out my first shoots in a completely professional manner.

And a meeting one day in Barcelona with a gallery owner who told me: "But I think you're wrong, you're not a fashion photographer, you're an art photographer, you create magnificent things." He exposed me after a few months.

I've know only worked on my own projects for the last 15 years.

I no longer respond to advertising or fashion orders, except to please one or the other.

But still the same main topic - woman.

Maybe it's my Virgo side too.

Or my desire to say thank you to my mom for bringing me into the world on this planet.

I don't know.

If you could describe your personality in 3 words, which would you choose?

Passionate.

Positive and caring.

What's astrology for you?

I believe in it and I don't believe in it.

It is something which, not at my level, but probably like a religion or a philosophy, helps my contemporaries or people who have lived for several millennia on this planet to accept their passage on this piece of earth.

It's not that it doesn't speak to me, but I have the impression that I have made myself and I make myself day by day in a spontaneous, natural way and that I decide for my life.

However, I like it in the sense that I am happy to know that people who need help, whatever it may be, whether religion or astrology, to accept and relie on something to live, can do it.

What do you know about your own sign? (Virgo)

I have a funny anecdote about this astrological sign.

I was born on my mom's birthday, so we have an absolutely fabulous relationship.

My sister was born two days before and in fact my sister and I are, we get along very, very well, we love each other but we are diametrically different and I am probably the only artist in the family.

My rising might also play a role in it.

Virgos are known for their meticulous natures,

Does this sense of detail help as a photographer?

Not when the photo is taken.

I love leaving room for my model, I love leaving room for the painter for my other projects too and I allow myself to be able to take my photo from behind or far away, etc.

On the other hand, once I look at the results I will look for an image that is technically already good but that must create an emotion.

So yes, I have a very meticulous side and it goes very far in the sense that it sometimes takes me a year to choose a photo I consider perfect.

Does this help you create a caring environment during photoshoots?

It's always been pretty easy to create a safe space.

Is it me who gives off a reassuring vibe?

I never bother my models or my clients with technical problems.

The camera, for me, quickly became an extension of my eye and my arm. And so I think things happen in a very natural way.

And when you're natural on one side of the camera, I imagine that you inevitably induce a feeling of relaxation and well-being on the other side.

I've never been very directive either.

We have time, we are in no hurry.

I'm very trusting too.

When I have a makeup artist in my studio, I know he is a professional because I chose him for his qualities, his professional qualities.

So in fact, the shoots are going very well, have always gone very well.

Does this allow you to stay on the lookout for new artistic opportunities?

Yes, of course I am open to everything.

I already have my own projects, but I remain open to other collaborations, to other possibilities, to other trips, to meetings, obviously, all the time.

I always come back to the fact that I will never have enough of one life to do and meet everything I would like to achieve and all the people I would like to meet.

What inspires you today?

I like meeting passionate people and among artists, I have the chance to meet many. People who have a fire in their hearts, who have creativity to express and things to say.

And as a photographer, it’s imperative to stay curious.

What are you most proud of?

My children.

The rest is bullshit.

Be passionate.

I'm 58 years old and I feel like I'm still 16.
