Meet the artist

Founder and CEO of her eponymous silk and leather accessories brand, Roseline d’Oreye began her career as a book illustrator, specializing in children’s books.

“Creating and drawing have always been the cornerstones of my life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always drawn. Even as a child, I had already decided to dedicate my life to these passions.” – Roseline

For about ten years, the Belgian artist explored various professional avenues, illustrating children’s books, but also creating portraits, murals, and invitations.

She also trained in several art therapy methods and taught students various forms of artistic expression, always inspired by her explorations of the world, both internal and external.

Roseline transcribes these explorations in her travel journals, which she considers her strongest form of personal expression.

Since then, the artist has continued to capture the emotions, fleeting moments, and fascination she experiences in her travel journals from around the world.

“My passions for art, humanity, creativity, and the unconscious have found fulfillment in these different forms of expression.” - Roseline

Upon encountering silk, Roseline discovered a new medium of expression: a material as noble as it is timeless.

This fiber, so fine, so soft, so lustrous, with its almost magical properties, became her preferred medium, allowing her to combine her love of art, stories, and colors with that of a fashion accessory that is worn, that enhances, and that protects the wearer.

For Roseline, the silk scarf represents the joy of stories and travel, the freedom of colors and shapes, but above all, the fulfillment of creating a beautiful, useful, and delicate object that can be worn at any age, by both men and women, and passed down from generation to generation.

In 2019, the illustrator launched this project from her studio in Laeken, a project that would soon become a recognized brand in Belgium and abroad. In December 2022, the Roseline d’Oreye boutique opened its doors, nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest covered galleries – the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert.
